Medicines and medications that are Prescription Only Medicines (POM-V) may be bought from our clinic or obtained elsewhere using a written prescription that we can provide. Medicines, including the majority of our anti-parasitic products, are Prescription Only Medicines. This means that legally they can only be dispensed to animals registered under our care.
The pet should have been seen by us within the last 6 months, however this time frame may vary depending upon the medicine invloved. We will not dispense further medication until this check has been done.
If your pet is on long term medication you will recieve a repeat prescription card, which you must bring with you when collecting medication.
When you require further medication for your pet we advise that you give us 24hours notice. This ensures that we have the medication in stock when you arrive, thus avoiding a wasted trip on your behalf. Our supplies arrive via next day delivery except for the weekends.
Dispensed products cannot be returned.
Written prescriptions are available from this practice at a charge. You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines, Category V, (POM-VPS, POM-V) from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a written prescription and obtain the medicines from another veterinary practice or pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM V’s only for animals under his or her care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary. You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicines that may be prescribed for your animal.
